Job description

OMC is recruiting for a Lab Tech at our Mineral Park Mine. This role will be a DRA employee working in conjunction with the OMC team.
The Laboratory Technician is responsible for conducting a variety of chemical and metallurgical analytical procedures to support lab operations. This role involves handling sensitive laboratory equipment, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and effectively managing daily activities to achieve business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine analysis testing and operate laboratory equipment.
  • Collect samples from multiple sites and prepare them for analysis using appropriate techniques.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
  • Order supplies, track reagent consumption, and manage inventory of critical lab parts and chemicals.
  • Support plant operators as needed and provide technical assistance to staff and other departments.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards, including MSHA requirements, and participate in the review and update of laboratory safety procedures.
  • Manage laboratory cleanup and routine reagent preparation as directed.
  • Identify materials and equipment needed to maintain continuous operation.
  • Assist with the analysis of blast hole samples for copper and molybdenum determination.

Must be able to work a rotating schedule. Lab operates 24/7/365.
Qualifications, Skills, and Expertise:
  • Demonstrated knowledge in math, chemistry, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation.
