Salary: $23.76 Hourly Location : Cheyenne, WY Job Type: Part-Time Job Number: 202500218 Division: Academic Affairs Department: School of Health Sciences & Wellness Opening Date: 08/20/2025 FLSA: Non-Exempt Job Summary The Lab Assistant, Physical Therapy is a part-time, non-benefited position who assists faculty with scheduled lab sessions, ensuring safety and competency with physical therapy skills. This position will monitor and support students by leading open lab sessions, assess and score psychomotor competencies while maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and inventory of lab spaces and equipment. The expected workload for this position is 12-20 hours per week (average of 16). Compensation: $23.76/hr. Priority Screening Date: Position is open until filled. Starting Date: As soon as practical after the hiring process. Principal Responsibilities and Results, KSA's ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - this position is non-exempt and is eligible for compensatory or overtime pay provisions of the FLSA. Ensure safety and compliance by enforcing lab safety protocols, maintaining sanitation standards, and adhering to regulatory requirements during all physical therapy lab activities.
  • Adhere to all PTA program and College policies and procedures.
  • Mentor and role model professional and ethical practice of physical therapy
Facilitate student support by providing hands-on guidance, reinforcing proper physical therapy techniques during lab session, and assisting with equipment usage. Support the department by maintaining accurate lab records, coordinating lab schedules, and facilitating communication between students, faculty, and administration. Ensure efficient lab preparation and maintenance by setting up equipment, maintaining inventory, and overseeing the functionality and cleanliness of physical therapy tools and resources. Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional needs PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • While performing the essential functions of this position a variable work schedule may be required
  • There may be occurrences of interacting with employees and/or students, past employees and/or students, members of the general public, and others who express opinions, may exhibit strong emotions, which will require the employee to interact professionally, diplomatically, and appropriately in such situations
  • While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to move around the assigned work areas as well as within hallways, meeting rooms, and other parts of the campus facilities
  • There may be multiple/daily instances of prolonged sitting, standing, and personal computer use, which would include keyboard and/or mouse usage as well as viewing a computer monitor
  • An employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more to perform essential position functions
  • For lifts exceeding 50 pounds, an assisted lift technique will be required
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • The overall work environment requires the mental ability to shift focal point quickly due to interruptions; an employee must be able to mentally track multiple projects and tasking as well
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; however, there may be instances of somewhat loud environments.
  • An employee must be able to transition between stationary tasks and activities to frequent movement activities quickly and as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
  • Licensed physical therapist or physical therapist assistant in Wyoming or ability to obtain license
  • Six months' experience working in the field of physical therapy or healthcare education
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two years of full-time post licensure clinical practice
  • One year of experience in physical therapy education
  • Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program (CCIP) Level 1 certification
  • APTA membership
