Description:Summary Duties and Responsibilities

Based on broad guidance by the Process Engineering team and information gathered during daily production meetings, oversee the day-to-day work in the Quality Assurance Laboratory. Monitor processes and ensure that laboratory equipment is functioning correctly.


Essential Functions

  • Train, monitor and report on hourly lab worker’s performance to safety and lab policies/procedures. Standards.
  • Repair, maintain, and calibrate lab equipment to accepted QA standards.
  • Prepare certificate of analysis for all product shipments out of the Atalco Alumina facility.
  • Develop, maintain and report monthly on Safety, Environmental and Quality performance of the lab.

Education/Training Requirements

Bachelor's level degree with heavy emphasis in Chemistry and up to 3 years of supervisory experience plus up to 10 years of experience with wet chemistry lab processes and analytical instrumentation including X-Ray spectrometer and diffraction are required.


Work Authorization

This role requires authorization to work in the United States.


Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret information. Ability to write reports and basics business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Post Employment
