Position Overview

Carry out product analyses of key parameters, collect samples, catalog and maintain samples library, prepare samples for shipment, release products from Quality hold upon successful completion of tests and issue COA reports, and continually monitor lab equipment under direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Approach every task with safety as the first consideration. Adhere to all safety programs. Help establish a culture of safety with team members.
  • Inspect all equipment to ensure proper maintenance, proper documentation, prevention of spills, proper weighing of containers, proper sampling, and minimizing dust created in normal operation.
  • Perform lab chemistry analysis per product and customer requirements.
  • Prepare and send samples to outside laboratories for 3rd party testing.
  • Prepare and send samples to customers via Sales & Marketing requests.
  • Release product with passing analyses from Quality Hold status.
  • Issue certificates of analysis upon completion or receipt of lab test results.
  • Prepare and send shipping documents as required.
  • Follow all GMP requirements.
  • Report any food safety or quality issues immediately to a supervisor or member of Quality Assurance.
  • Assist Quality Assurance Manager and Food Safety Coordinator as needed.
  • During shutdowns perform special duties as needed.
  • Must maintain all tools issued and monitor them as their own.
  • Perform any duties that may be reasonably assigned.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping so that the shipping and receiving area is clean and safe.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three monthsโ€™ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with operating menu-driven programs and a computer mouse.

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and climb stairs. The employee is occasionally required to balance stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift, move, push, or pull up to 25 pounds, frequently lift, move, push, or pull up to 55 pounds, occasionally lift, move, push, or pull up to 100 pounds, and occasionally push or pull more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
