The Vertex's AI and Governance co-op program is a 6-month experiential training program for students currently working towards an undergraduate or advanced degree in Information Systems or similar fields. What you will be doing:

  • Innovate with Agentic AI Solutions: Collaborate with business and technical team to identify, design and build cutting-edge AI-driven solutions that streamline and automate critical processes, including information gathering, requirement definition, and project documentation for one or more high-impact portfolio projects.
  • Be the Bridge Between Teams: Act as a key liaison between business stakeholders and data platform teams, driving essential data cataloging efforts. Your insights will directly influence the user experience of tools like Collibra and Data Marketplace, ensuring they are intuitive and business-user friendly.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing AI Solutions:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for Agentic AI solutions.
    • Design and build tools to automate tasks such as information gathering, requirement definition, and project documentation.
    • Test and refine agents to ensure they meet business needs and improve operational efficiency.
    • Deliverables : 1-2 agents that help improve the throughput and efficiency of the Engg Governance team
    • Contacts: G&A Data Engg pod, DSE BA's, DSE Engg governance team, DSE Leadership team
  • Driving Data Governance Initiatives:
    • Support data cataloging efforts by partnering with business teams to organize and document critical data assets.
    • Provide input to the Collibra and Data Marketplace teams to enhance the user experience, ensuring tools are intuitive and business-user friendly.
    • Deliverables : Ensure 1 Functional domain is comprehensively cataloged with KPIs, business terminology, and data products available in an intuitive manner for business teams to leverage effectively.
    • Contacts: G&A business data product owners, G&A Data Engg pod, DSE Engg governance team, DSE Platform teams
  • Other expectations:
    • Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project reviews to share insights and contribute to decision-making
    • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring alignment on goals and priorities
    • Communicate progress and challenges effectively to ensure project milestones are met.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Currently enrolled an undergraduate or graduate program pursuing a degree in Information Systems or a relate field.
  • Basic understanding of Agentic AI frameworks and tools available on the market
  • Curiosity to learn and ability to get hands-on experience building AI agents
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States, now and in the future. Please note that Vertex does not provide sponsorship for internships or entry level roles within this part of the organization.
  • You must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from July - December 2026
