Overview
A growing manufacturer specializing in advanced thermal solutions and custom fabrication is seeking a full-time Mechanical Technician to support product development, testing, and production initiatives. This hands-on role works across a wide range of shop projects involving cold plates, aluminum fabrication, vapor chambers, heating and cooling systems, and government-related orders.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, learning new equipment, and supporting diverse engineering projects in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
-Fabricate prototypes and hardware using hand tools, mills, lathes, welding equipment, and other shop machinery.
-Perform cutting, wiring, measuring, epoxy work, and mechanical assembly based on engineering drawings.
-Set up and conduct laboratory testing of components and full assemblies under operational conditions.
-Accurately document test results in laboratory notebooks or electronic systems.
-Analyze test data and provide recommendations for design or process improvements.
-Support troubleshooting efforts related to thermal systems and mechanical assemblies.
-Assist engineering leadership and lab supervisors with various technical and operational tasks as needed.
-Assist with 3D solid modeling and create detailed drawings following GD&T standards (ANSI/ASME Y14.5).
Requirements
-Experience in a manufacturing, machine shop, or engineering lab environment.
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
-Hands-on experience with mills, lathes, welding, wiring, and precision measuring tools.
-Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow detailed instructions.
-Ability to document work accurately and maintain organized records.
-Willingness to learn and adapt to changing project needs.
Preferences
-Experience working with cold plates, aluminum plates, vapor chambers, or thermal management systems.
-Exposure to heating/cooling systems or vacuum furnace operations.
-Experience supporting government or regulated projects.
-Familiarity with solid modeling software and GD&T standards.
-Technical degree or coursework in Engineering Technology or related field.
