Caregiver – Southern Maryland

Senior Helpers Southern Maryland is currently seeking dependable and compassionate caregivers to support clients throughout Southern Maryland. We have immediate opportunities for experienced caregivers who take pride in providing reliable, high-quality, one-on-one care.

We are especially interested in hearing from caregivers with experience supporting clients with Parkinson’s disease, as we currently have assignments where this background is highly valued. General caregiving experience is also welcome, as we continue to hire for a variety of client needs throughout our service area.

At Senior Helpers, our caregivers are at the heart of everything we do. We provide the training, communication, and local support you need to feel confident in your role and make a meaningful difference in the lives of the clients you serve.

What You'll Do:

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Provide personal care and companionship
• Assist with mobility, transfers, and fall prevention
• Prepare meals and provide medication reminders
• Perform light housekeeping related to client care
• Support clients in maintaining their independence and daily routines
• Observe and communicate changes in client condition
• Follow individualized care plans and provide dependable, compassionate care

We're Looking for Caregivers Who:

• Have at least 1 year of caregiving experience
• Are reliable, compassionate, patient, and professional
• Are comfortable providing one-on-one care in a client's home
• Have experience with mobility assistance, transfers, and personal care
• Can consistently arrive for scheduled assignments and communicate effectively with clients and our office team
Have experience caring for clients with Parkinson's disease – highly preferred for select assignments

The Logistics:

Pay Rate: $16.00–$19.00/hour (based on experience)
Training Pay: $15.00/hour
Schedule: Flexible – Day, Evening, Weekend, Overnight, PRN/Fill-In
Hours: Typically 12–40 hours per week
• Weekend and holiday availability preferred
Service Area: Prince Frederick, Waldorf, La Plata, Clinton, Ft. Washington, Brandywine, Accokeek, Oxon Hill, Temple Hills, Suitland, District Heights, White Plains & surrounding areas

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of caregiving experience
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
• Negative TB test
• Agree and Reply to Text "Helper"
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
