26FT Box Truck Driver

Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $22.00–$24.00 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, First Shift; start and end times vary based on routes and operational needs
Introductory/Probationary Period: 90 Days

Position Summary

Makarios Logistics Solutions, LLC. is seeking a dependable, safety-focused, and highly motivated Driver to join our growing logistics team. Our Drivers play an essential role in providing reliable service to our customers while representing Makarios with professionalism and integrity.

The ideal candidate has an established work history, excellent attendance, a strong commitment to safe driving, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment. Drivers must be comfortable with changing daily routes, schedules, customer requirements, and operational priorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Minimum of three (3) years of verifiable 26-foot box truck driving experience with a clean driving record is required.
• Safely operate Company vehicles while performing assigned pickup and delivery routes.
• Complete scheduled deliveries and pickups accurately, safely, and efficiently.
• Maintain regular and dependable attendance and report to work prepared for scheduled assignments.
• Maintain consistent communication with Dispatch and management throughout the workday.
• Follow assigned routes, delivery instructions, customer requirements, and management directives.
• Use the Samsara Driver App and other Company-required technology consistently and accurately.
• Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Immediately report vehicle defects, damage, accidents, safety concerns, delays, or other operational issues.
• Verify freight, paperwork, delivery information, and other documentation for accuracy.
• Obtain required signatures, proof of delivery, photographs, or other documentation when applicable.
• Maintain accurate delivery, mileage, inspection, and other required records.
• Safely load, unload, secure, and handle freight when required by the assignment.
• Maintain professional and courteous interactions with customers, warehouse personnel, Dispatch, coworkers, and management.
• Protect customer freight and Company property from damage, loss, or misuse.
• Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of assigned Company vehicles.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws, Company safety policies, customer requirements, and transportation regulations.
• Perform other transportation and logistics duties as assigned based on operational needs.

Qualifications and Requirements

Successful candidates should demonstrate:

• Valid driver's license appropriate for the assigned vehicle.
• Acceptable driving record and ability to satisfy applicable Company and insurance requirements.
• Excellent attendance, punctuality, and reliability.
• Strong commitment to safe and responsible driving.
• Ability to work independently and make responsible decisions while on the road.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to maintain consistent communication with Dispatch.
• Ability and willingness to use Samsara and other required mobile applications.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation.
• Professional customer-service skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced logistics environment.
• Ability to adapt to changes in routes, schedules, customer needs, and daily assignments.
• Ability to safely perform the physical responsibilities associated with assigned deliveries and freight handling.
• Ability to follow Company policies, safety procedures, customer requirements, and management instructions.

Preferred Work History

Candidates with an established and dependable employment history demonstrating reliability, consistent attendance, and longevity with previous employers are preferred.

Previous experience in delivery, transportation, logistics, warehousing, route driving, or a related field is preferred.

90-Day Introductory Period

The first 90 days of employment are considered an introductory/probationary period. Performance will be evaluated in areas including:

• Attendance and punctuality
• Safe driving and compliance with safety requirements
• Reliability and completion of assigned routes
• Consistent Dispatch communication
• Consistent Samsara Driver App login and usage
• Customer service and professionalism
• Accuracy of paperwork and delivery documentation
• Care of Company vehicles and customer freight
• Ability to follow instructions and operational procedures
• Overall suitability for the Driver position

Following the 90-day period, the employee's performance and compensation may be reviewed by management. Completion of the introductory period does not guarantee a pay increase or continued employment.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00–$24.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, driving history, and demonstrated skills.
