Job description

We are seeking Laboratory Associate to join IQVIA Laboratories at Valencia, CA.

Job Summary:
Perform routine laboratory testing procedures to generate data used in clinical trials research. This role supports accurate analysis, documentation, communication, safety, quality, and compliance within the laboratory environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Perform routine analysis of specimens and document results in accordance with SOPs and applicable regulatory guidelines
  • Evaluate analytical results against algorithms displayed by the lab computer system
  • Identify and document potential performance errors or unusual results and escalate to senior lab personnel
  • Prepare buffers and solutions for analysis, as required
  • Store post-analysis samples and reagents according to laboratory requirements
  • Assist in the development and writing of new laboratory procedures and techniques
  • Support good housekeeping, safety, quality, and 6S requirements and initiatives
  • Communicate clearly, accurately, and timely with cross-functional stakeholders
What We Are Looking For:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent or Bachelor's Degree; some CAP/CLIA lab locations may require a BS in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology degree preferred
  • 6 months relevant lab experience required
  • Basic knowledge of lab principles
  • Basic knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and applicable regulatory agency standards
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices including standard precautions and hazardous chemical handling
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation and terminology used in the area of responsibility
  • Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role:
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders
  • Clear, accurate, and timely communication skills
  • Commitment to continuing education, safety, quality, and compliance

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.
