Job description

Introduction:  Weekdays - 12:00pm to 8:30pm

Medical City Dallas Hematopathology lab section seeks an experienced hematology medical technologist to coordinate bone marrow specimen workup – staining, bone marrow and peripheral blood manual differential counts, clinical history lookup and case organization for subsequent hematopathologist sign out. Opportunities to cross train in flow cytometry are available if the candidate desires. This is a second shift position.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Our Medical Lab Scientist performs and demonstrates proficiency and understanding in one or more areas of the clinical laboratory. The commitment to service, safety and professionalism is critical to achieving the best experience for our patients. What You Will Do In This Role

· You will perform chemical, bacteriological, serological and microscopic procedures in one or more laboratory sections.

· You will maintain records of performance, patient results and quality control.

· You will maintain equipment, record preventive and remedial maintenance of equipment.

· You will assist with laboratory training programs as required.

What qualifications you will need

· Bachelor’s Degree is required

· Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Certified Medical Lab, or Certified Lab Technologist, or Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Lab Scientist, or American Medical Technologist is required

· At least one year experience in a hematology lab at a hospital setting is preferred
