How you'll contribute 

A Medical Lab Assistant (MLA) who excels in this role:

  • The Medical Laboratory Assistant will perform basic laboratory duties to include phlebotomy, along with other specimen collection, and waived testing.

  • The Medical Laboratory Assistant is responsible for ordering, processing, and distributing laboratory specimens.

  • Review of pending reports, manifests, etc. for outstanding lab results, assisting other lab personnel with specimen storage and retrieval, ensuring Turn Around Times (TATs) are met; and maintaining inventory for phlebotomy services, reference lab supplies, and departmental office supplies.

  • Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing and transporting specimens.

What we're looking for 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent 

  • Valid Drivers License 

  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)

  • Basic math, interpretive and analytical skills are required.

  • Information collection and management, attention to detail, along with the ability to work under pressure are required in this position.

  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
