Continue your professional growth in the exciting field of Construction Materials Testing Science by supervising this well-established Laboratory. Contribute to healthy and safe buildings by conducting tests onsite on some of the most iconic buildings in New England and in our 5,000 sq. ft. laboratory facility in Canton, MA. Work for a great small business with a big history and pleasant working environment. Full time or part time position.
Job Requirements and Duties:

·        At least 10 years experience in the Construction Industry.
·        Current ACI Concrete Technician Grade I certification, plus a selection of other certifications (listed below).
·        Ability to perform concrete and other general and specialized services for the quality control of construction materials utilizing test specifications of ASTM, ANSI, federal, and other national standards setting organizations.
·        Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or associated discipline; experience teaching courses.
·        Ability to train and supervise lab technicians.
·        Assist lab director in various assigned duties.
·        Perform calibrations on small equipment for clients.
·        Maintain lab supplies inventory and maintain equipment calibration schedule.
·        Solid knowledge of the principles and terminology in the Construction Inspection Industry.
·        OSHA-10 certification.
·        Reports directly to the Director of Construction Materials Testing Laboratory.

General Qualifications: 

·        General computer knowledge (MS Word, Excel).
·        Ability to keep detailed field notes and record data.
·        Ablity to read plans and specifications.
·        Must be a team player and work well with others.
·        Must have good organization skills, the ability to focus on details, and the ability to follow directions, both written and oral.
·        Must be punctual and reliable.
·        Must have a desire to learn and teach.
·        Good communication (listening, speaking, writing) skills
·        Clean record with CORI and other background checks.
·        Occasional weekend availability, if necessary; must be able to accommodate flexible work hours when necessary.
·        Must be able to work independently.
·        Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean record and reliable transportation
·        Ability to work in lab and field, walk/work on uneven surfaces, work outside in various weather conditions and from heights, the ability to lift 75 lbs.
·        Must wear attire appropriate with safety regulations. Work boots necessary as per ANSI Z-41. Hard hat, safety vest and safety glasses are provided.
