Role Purpose

We are looking for a Product Lab Engineer to lead the technical operation of a photovoltaic module reliability laboratory. In this role, you will support product quality, certification compliance, and product risk assessment through reliability testing, data analysis, and continuous improvement of lab systems and methods.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong technical background in reliability, quality, or lab testing who enjoys working across teams to solve problems and improve product performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical ownership of the reliability lab and support safe, efficient, and compliant operations

  • Develop test plans and recommend appropriate methods for product qualification, process changes, supplier issues, and failure investigations

  • Perform or oversee reliability testing using environmental chambers and related lab equipment

  • Analyze test results and identify product or process risks, including trends and near-limit conditions

  • Prepare clear technical reports, summaries, and recommendations for cross-functional teams

  • Maintain lab procedures, protocols, records, and reference materials to ensure accurate and repeatable testing

  • Coordinate equipment calibration, verification, and troubleshooting with internal support teams

  • Support audits, certification activities, and compliance with applicable standards and quality systems

  • Drive improvements in lab safety, consistency, turnaround time, equipment reliability, and data quality

  • Provide technical guidance to lab staff and support development of lab capability and standard work

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or other relevant technical/scientific discipline

  • Minimum 3–5+ years of experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, quality, product engineering, or reliability-related technical role

  • Experience working with IEC and ISO standards, audits, certifications, or compliance systems

  • Ability to interpret technical test data and connect findings to product quality or process risk

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capability

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work in a lab/manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods and occasional team lifting/handling of modules or fixtures

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • 5–7 years of relevant experience

  • Experience in photovoltaic / solar module reliability testing , module manufacturing, or module qualification

  • Experience in related industries such as semiconductor, materials, electronics, or advanced manufacturing

  • Experience with environmental chambers, reliability test equipment, and lab troubleshooting

  • Familiarity with standards such as IEC 61215, IEC 61730 , ISO 17025, or similar quality/lab frameworks

  • Experience managing calibration systems, controlled standards, or reference samples

  • Experience using structured problem solving, statistical analysis, DOE, Minitab, or JMP

  • Mandarin or written Chinese language capability

The range for this position is $91,649.00 - $126,018.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
