Medical Lab Technician Pay Rate: $26.57-$43.76 hourly

Medical Technologist Pay Rate: $30.29-$49.88 hourly

Job Description:

The Medical Lab Technician performs and interprets standard, complex and specialized tests.

  • Performs full range of chemical, microbiologic, immunologic, hematologic, and immunohematology laboratory procedures.
  • Evaluates test results and follow-up with appropriate action.
  • Performs instrument calibrations, maintenance, QC and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Completes all internal and external documentation as per policies and procedures.
  • Provides administrative and technical consulting on laboratory testing.
  • Assists in the training of laboratory personnel, other healthcare professionals and consumers.
  • Participates in evaluation of new techniques and procedures in the laboratory.

Job Qualifications:

  • An associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or one of the chemical, physical or biological sciences required.
  • Experience required for ASCP certification is required.
  • American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required.

Exerting up to 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible up to 10 pounds amount of force often.
