Job description

Hazardous Waste Logistics & Compliance Coordinator

Location: Hitchcock, TX Area (Galveston County / Greater Houston)
Position: Full-Time (Direct Hire)
Compensation: $70,000 – $75,000 per year (DOE)

A day in this role

You start by mapping driver routes for regulated materials, industrial wastewater, and specialty chemicals—sequencing pickups and deliveries for maximum efficiency and on-time performance. As the day progresses, you finalize and verify hazardous and non-hazardous waste documentation, including manifests, Bills of Lading (BOLs), Land Disposal Restrictions (LDRs), and waste profiles, aligning every detail with EPA, RCRA, and DOT requirements. You coordinate closely with third-party transport carriers and TSDFs (Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities) to secure approvals and keep turnaround times tight. In parallel, you partner with internal lab teams and field specialists to ensure waste streams are matched to the right treatment capabilities and disposal or recycling paths. Throughout, you track inventory across bulk tanks, totes, drums, and container storage so traceability is unbroken from pickup through final disposal. You reinforce compliance standards—OSHA, DOT, and TCEQ—support safety audits, and keep transport operations incident-free.

What you’ll handle
  • Plan, route, and schedule daily transport for regulated materials, industrial wastewater, and specialty chemicals; optimize driver dispatch and on-time service.
  • Prepare, review, and manage waste documentation—hazardous/non-hazardous manifests, BOLs, LDRs, and waste profiles—in full compliance with EPA, RCRA, and DOT regulations.
  • Coordinate with third-party carriers, TSDFs, and regional receiving sites to obtain waste approvals and meet turnaround expectations.
  • Collaborate with internal lab teams and field specialists to align customer waste streams with appropriate treatment and disposal/recycling solutions.
  • Oversee inventory control for bulk tanks, totes, drums, and container storage; maintain complete cradle-to-grave traceability.
  • Uphold OSHA, DOT, and TCEQ standards; support safety audits and drive incident-free transport operations.
What you bring
  • 3+ years of hands-on logistics, dispatch, or technical operations experience within hazardous waste, industrial chemistry, or environmental services.
  • Certifications:
    • 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
    • DOT Hazardous Materials (49 CFR) Certification
    • RCRA Hazardous Waste Management Certification
  • Depth in EPA waste profiling, hazardous manifesting, DOT shipping documentation, and use of logistics/scheduling software.
