Stewardship Lab Coordinator

The Stewardship Lab Coordinator manages the BYU Stewardship Lab, a cross-disciplinary, student-centered research hub within the David M. Kennedy Center for International Studies. This position fosters collaboration among faculty, students, and campus partners to support environmental research, expand experiential learning opportunities, and advance the Lab's mission of stewardship. The role also provides ongoing coordination and support for the Global Environmental Studies (GES) Program and works closely with the BYU Sustainability Office and the Ballard Center.

Note: This is a part-time position 20 hours per week.

What you'll do in this position:
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary collaboration among faculty, students, and campus partners on environmental research initiatives
  • Support and manage research projects focused on sustainability and global environmental issues
  • Build and maintain partnerships with external organizations to expand research and learning opportunities
  • Plan and execute events, including symposiums, presentations, workshops, and open houses
  • Promote the Stewardship Lab and Global Environmental Studies Program through outreach and communication efforts
  • Support student engagement through the Global Environmental Studies academic program and student association
  • Coordinate with the BYU Sustainability Office, Ballard Center, and other campus organizations to support shared initiatives
  • Monitor research funding opportunities and assist with project and program development
What qualifies you for this role:Required:
  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
  • Bachelor's degree or four years of related professional experience
  • Two years of experience in a management, leadership, or team coordination role
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience planning and coordinating events and promotional activities
  • Knowledge of sustainability and global environmental issues
  • Ability to work effectively with faculty, students, staff, and community partners
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with two years of office or program management experience
  • Experience leading sustainability or environmental initiatives
  • Experience supporting research, program development, or strategic planning

Pay Grade: 50

Typical Starting Pay: $52,500 - $68,000

The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate's job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work-related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
