Responsibilities
  • Responsible for supervising the shift production crew to ensure the kilns, mills and auxiliary equipment are being operated safely and efficiently in order to produce a quality product.
  • Responsible for following company Standard Operating Practices for plant operations.
  • Must ensure all employees and contractors in the plant work in a safe manner, which is consistent with company work rules and MSHA standards.
  • Must ensure the plant is run in a manner, which will avoid serious damage to equipment.
  • Will run the plant in compliance with environmental regulations and ensure that product is manufactured to company standards.
  • Must also ensure that equipment operating time and throughput is maximized in a manner that is consistent with the company's practices and policies.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution is required; 2-year associate degree preferred
  • 2 years supervisory experience
  • 5 years experience working in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience supervising in a union environment is preferred
  • Control room or lab experience is preferred
  • Ability to work rotating shifts to support 24/7 plant operations
  • Experience working in the cement, lime or aggregate industry is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
