Media Planner

JOB DESCRIPTION


TEAM: Media

REPORTS TO: Media Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW


The Media Planner is responsible for strategizing, planning, and executing paid media campaigns for our clients. As a media planner, you are expected to understand your clients' line of business, have experience using media tools, following best practices, and helping build best in class process with your team. This position reports directly to the media supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital Media Strategy Support


  • Manage full media planning cycles (Planning and presenting, buying, executing, analysis and reporting)
  • Media Execution: Hands-on media campaign setup across multiple digital paid media channels (including social, programmatic, display, native, video and search) to ensure media is delivered on time with high quality, and campaign performance targets are met or exceeded.
  • Research and identify opportunities to test various digital media strategies and technologies to add to our digital media service offerings
  • Ensure that all media invoices, discrepancies, and billings are input, cleared, and issued in a timely fashion.
  • Working with Specialist and Junior Associates in the day-to-day operation of the accounts
  • Assist with media point of views (POVs).
  • Assist with digital reporting and trafficking.
  • Assist in booking ad space.
  • Assist with maintaining of campaign budgets.
  • Liaise with external media vendors and agencies.


Collaboration


  • Collaborate daily with internal departments (Creative, Accounts and Project Managers) to ensure client needs are fulfilled.
  • Cultivate an environment of positivity, results oriented and client focused by communicating with others in an open and respectful manner.


Operational Excellence


  • Keep abreast of industry best practices and trends related to the Agency.
  • Follow all agency policy and procedures.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Minimum (2) years as a Media Planner/Buyer.
  • Minimum (2) years hands-on experience with paid digital media channel campaign buying and planning, setup, ongoing optimization, measurement & testing.
  • Advanced knowledge of conventional and unconventional digital media buying and acquisition models (CPA, CPC, CPM, CPE)
  • Strong computer software skills particularly with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated experience digital media software experience an asset.
  • Knowledge of third-party ad-servers and social media platforms (both paid and organic) an asset.
