Put Precision to Work in Aerospace as a Lab Technician
Location : Savannah, GA | Schedule: 1st Shift, 5am to 3:30pm | Pay Rate: $34.33 per hour
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace company to find an experienced Lab Technician who is ready to make a critical impact on aircraft quality, safety, and performance If you have a strong technical background, laboratory testing experience, and a passion for precision, this is your opportunity to bring your expertise to an industry where every measurement matters.
Make an Impact Every Day
As a Lab Technician, you'll perform critical laboratory testing to verify that aircraft materials, parts, and components meet type design data and applicable aerospace requirements. Your work will directly support the quality and airworthiness of aircraft while helping solve complex technical challenges in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
What You'll Do
  • Perform laboratory tests and determine product acceptability according to established methods and procedures.
  • Record, organize, evaluate, and document test results while generating detailed laboratory reports.
  • Ensure all testing is performed safely and in compliance with applicable safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and verify proper calibration before testing.
  • Manage inventory and maintain control of laboratory equipment and resources.
  • Work collaboratively with other Lab Technicians and provide assistance as needed.
  • Enter and manage testing data using Microsoft Access, Solumina, and Corridor.
  • Ensure measurement and test equipment is accurate and calibrated to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards.
  • Develop procedures that support compliance with FAA, manufacturer, and industry requirements.
  • Work directly with customers to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical or logistical issues.
  • Work independently with little or no supervision while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 6 years of technically related experience, including at least 3 years of laboratory testing experience.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation.
  • Strong knowledge of shop mathematics.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA) system requirements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong technical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and technical documentation.
  • Extensive experience manufacturing, operating, and maintaining full-scale aircraft mockups.

Preferred Qualifications
  • ASQ (American Society for Quality) certification upon hire preferred.
  • Aerospace, aircraft manufacturing, or aviation laboratory experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Access, Solumina, and Corridor.
  • Familiarity with NIST calibration standards and measurement systems.
  • Experience developing or improving laboratory testing procedures.
