Hours: Per Diem
Shift: Day/Evening shift, 5:00pm - 9:30pm
Location: Cytology - Mashpee, MA

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.

Responsibilities
Position reports to the department Lead Technologists and Manager, Pathology. Perform various clerical, technical, and related duties primarily within the Cytology section of the Pathology Laboratory. Responsible for accessioning of cytology specimens in the LIS and performing procedures according to established policy for preparing specimens for microscopic examination, including specimen processing and staining. Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained and supplies are adequately stocked. Assist with slide filing and tissue processors in the Histology section as needed.
Qualifications
  • Successful completion of High School or equivalency required.
  • Certification in Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Up to and including one year experience.
  • Combination of education and experience as a microbiology specimen processor/lab assistant equivalent for at least 6 months accepted.
  • Certification in Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
