Cardiovascular Lab Assistant

Under the general direction of the physician (Cardiologist/Radiologist), will assist by scrubbing procedures or monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data, as related to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab.

Responsibilities

Ensures procedure room is adequately prepared for the procedure. Monitors par level of all instruments and supplies. Participate in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities, and the training of new staff. Assist in all aspects of invasive and cardiac procedures. ROTATE ON CALL SCHEDULE. Recognizes and responds to priorities, accepts changes and new ideas. Has insight into problems and the ability to develop workable alternatives. Patient-centered: respectful of and responds to patients preferences, values and needs.

Qualifications

Previous experience or training in a Cardiovascular Lab; preferred. More than 2 years Operating Room or Procedural area experience may be considered. Cardiovascular technician training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring preferred. BCLS (AHA) required upon hire and maintain current. Certified Cardiovascular Technician; CCPT (invasive emphasis), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), CCPT (invasive emphasis), preferred. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); required. EP Electrophysiology Pacing experience Preferred.
