OVERVIEW

Immediate opening for a Lab Assistant in Vista, CA who possesses:

  • Recent or new Bachelor's graduate with a scientific focus
  • Exposure to a hands-on laboratory setting
  • Experience scanning, logging, and verifying sample data and materials
  • Ability to work Tuesday through Saturday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM


FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Assistant to support sample inventory, freezer organization, and laboratory operations for a growing diagnostics environment. This role is ideal for a recent science graduate with hands-on lab exposure who is comfortable working with sample data, cryovials, freezer inventory, spreadsheets, and internal tracking systems. The selected candidate will help ensure physical samples are accurately tracked, labeled, organized, and reconciled with electronic records.


The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing lab inventory audits of cryovials and freezer contents across multiple -80°C units
  • Scanning, logging, and verifying sample data in spreadsheets or internal inventory systems
  • Assisting with reconciliation of physical samples versus electronic records
  • Accurately entering missing or incomplete sample information
  • Maintaining organization and proper labeling of freezer boxes and storage units
  • Supporting general lab organization, sample handling, and basic operational tasks
  • Collaborating with lab staff to locate, track, and validate sample inventory
  • Following laboratory procedures and maintaining accuracy when handling sample records and materials
  • Supporting daily lab operations while maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant work area


The selected candidate will also possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field preferred
  • Recent or new graduates encouraged to apply
  • Hands-on laboratory exposure or internship experience preferred
  • Experience with sample inventory, data entry, spreadsheets, or internal tracking systems preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling sample data and materials
  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions

  • Ability to communicate effectively with laboratory staff and team members
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced laboratory environment
