Job description

Job Title: Lab Technician I Location: Groton, CT Type: Contract Compensation: $23.71 Work Model: Onsite – onsite Hours: 40.0 Responsibilities

  • Support study set up to prepare for necropsy and histology portions of non GLP and GLP studies.
  • Train to fully support necropsy and histology techniques as outlined in SOPs and directed by study protocols.
  • Communicate with the pathologist and laboratory manager to ensure proper collection, handling, and submission of specimens, including chain of custody forms for outsourced work.
  • Ensure proper use and preventative maintenance of equipment and laboratory space.
  • Maintain full traceability of work and specimens.

Requirements

  • HS degree with 1-3 years of relevant experience OR A.S Degree with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Good Laboratory Practice Proficiency.
  • Foundation in general laboratory skills and processes.
  • Understanding of SOPs, lab safety, and PPE guidelines.
  • Ability to recognize, document, and resolve data errors.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining efficiency and quality.
  • Basic technical knowledge of relevant disciplines (histology, animal science) preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with necropsy or tissue collection, histology, microtomy, tissue processing, or slide staining techniques preferred.
  • Experience working in a GLP lab environment preferred.
