Yes Posting Number ST000835 Position Title Physics Laboratory Set Up Student Assistant Department Chemistry/Physics Division College of Arts & Sciences Supervisor Elena Gamaliy-Snezhko Supervisor Title Laboratory Manager and Instructional Support Description of Job Duties
The successful candidate will assist the Laboratory Manager, lab instructors, and professors in setting up and tearing down Intro lab equipment, helps with a maintenance of the equipment stock and with assembly of new equipment, and will also help with maintaining a clean lab.
In the laboratory setting, the candidate will prepare laboratory equipment, demonstrate the proper use of laboratory equipment to instructors and students if necessary, and give guidance to instructors and students in the safe and proper handling of equipment.
Successful candidates will have knowledge of concepts necessary for Intro labs and the ability to acquire and analyze data to ensure proper functioning of the equipment used.
The successful candidate will also attend the weekly lab set-up and tear-down equipment meetings on a schedule necessary to ensure the proper functioning of the Intro Physics Laboratory courses and possibly other courses using Intro Lab.
