Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/CCMA/RMA/NCMA)

Location: Sumter, SC
Job Type: Contract
Contract End Date: November 30, 2026
Pay Rate: $24.34 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–6:30 PM | Saturday–Sunday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
Work Days: Facility operates 7 days per week
Dress Code: Solid-color scrubs

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/CCMA/RMA/NCMA) to provide clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The Medical Assistant will assist providers with patient care, perform clinical procedures, maintain accurate documentation, and support daily medical office operations while ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients by providing information, services, and support throughout their visit.

  • Verify patient information, document medical history, and prepare patients for examinations.

  • Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure, weight, temperature, and patient history.

  • Administer medications and injections as directed.

  • Perform venipuncture, lab draws, EKGs, spirometry, flu tests, and strep tests.

  • Assist providers with office procedures and clinical care.

  • Process referrals, medication refills, and other administrative healthcare tasks.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

  • Manage medical supply inventory and ensure equipment remains operational.

  • Perform equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordinate repairs when needed.

  • Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant clinical environment.

  • Continue professional development through training and education.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant diploma, technical certificate, or equivalent training.

  • Active Medical Assistant certification required:

    • CMA

    • CCMA

    • NCMA

    • RMA

  • CPR certification upon hire or ability to obtain within 30 days.

  • Minimum 3 years of Medical Assistant experience after on-the-job training or formal Medical Assistant education/certification.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of clinical experience.
