Job description

We're looking for a Molecular Lab Technician (MLT) to help with day-to-day screening procedures for our molecular testing laboratory.

Weโ€™re seeking a highly driven, motivated, and experienced Lab Technician that understands the PCR process, its importance, and work through each complex step with the upmost efficiency. The ideal Lab Technician will have patience, empathy, time management, and professionalism with patients, co-workers, and providers.

Job Responsibilities

ยท Evaluate specimens received and organize workflow to provide optimum efficiency of testing and turnaround time of results

ยท Extract, denature, and purify DNA/RNA from assorted specimen types

ยท Perform PCR sequencing methods

ยท Evaluate results to determine interference, inhibition, or other problems that arise during extraction, amplification, or sequencing of DNA

ยท Perform quality control, validation, and other quality activities to verify performance of clinical assays

ยท Maintain equipment by performing assigned maintenance activities and troubleshoot unexpected problems with equipment

ยท Record data to monitor temperatures of incubation equipment

ยท Operate complex equipment and computer programs related to equipment

ยท Maintain a neat and clean work environment

ยท Perform proficiency testing to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies

ยท Assist in writing and maintaining standard operating procedures for clinical assays

ยท Follow laboratory policies and procedures such as attendance and time reporting policies

Requirements

ยท Bachelorโ€™s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry,ย ORย Associateโ€™s in Applied Science Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology

Schedule:

Four 10-hour shifts Monday - Friday 9:00pm-7:30am. Either Tuesday or Wednesday Off.
