Job description

Must perform medical laboratory tests, procedures and analyses for the treatment, diagnosis and prevention of diseases. Conducts chemical examinations of body fluids to find the presence of abnormal and normal components. Communication skills are essential in order to greet patients and answer incoming phone calls. Must have a professional and friendly attitude, be organized and have the ability to follow directions while multi-tasking in high stress situations. Must be detail oriented to ensure that the correct patient information and results are being entered. Must be professional in appearance and have dependable transportation. Basic computer and typing skills are required along with knowledge of office equipment. Minimum high school diploma or GED as well as current certification as a Laboratory Assistant by the Louisiana Board of Medical Examiners required. Two or more years of laboratory assistant experience preferred.
