SUMMARY
Responsible for setting up and supporting the instructors inthe use of lab equipment (electronic and/ or audio-visual), computer hardware,and computer software that is utilized in the Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include thefollowing. Other duties may be assigned.
Provide technological and instructional technical support andtraining to instructors/ faculty, as needed, in the use of equipment, softwareand web pages. Create and maintain Instructor Learning web pages.
Perform support role in lab operations by duplicatinginstructional materials, answering phone calls and screening visitors.
Organize, maintain, and control inventory.
Receive, store, and distribute parts and computer supplies.
Maintain and perform basic minor repairs and upgrades on labequipment.
Recommend updates in equipment and software.
Order parts required for lab equipment repairs and upgrades.
Install and set-up computer, audio/visual or electronic equipmentand parts, as required by instructors.
Process videotape distribution and returns, as necessary.
Report unsafe conditions to Department Chair.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must beable to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. Thequalifications listed below are representative of the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
EDUCATION
High school degree or GED required.
EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years experience in general office, electronic and/or audio/visual equipment set-up and maintenance, or related computer hardware area, required. Three (3) years experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Ability to receive, organize, maintain, test, and setup electronic parts and computer hardware supplies
Familiarity with computer hardware setup, software configuration, and testing of related electronic, audio/visual equipment
Proficiency in Word processing, spreadsheet and web page applications
Good written and oral communication skills
Good organizational skills
Proficiency in basic set-up of variety of equipment (electronic, audio/visual, computers)
