Overview
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant, also referred to as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA). Certified Medical Assistants will support both clinical and administrative tasks, such as taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, updating patient records, and coordinating appointments in our orthopedic clinic. Medical Assistants will work under the supervision of physicians and nurses in a fast-paced environment, helping to deliver exceptional patient care and ensure smooth clinical operations.

Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm

** You must be a Certified Medical Assistant from the National Healthcare Association or other nationally recognized organization to move forward in this position.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
  • Prepare patients for exams by taking vitals, updating medical history, and noting current symptoms
  • Assist with clinical procedures such as EKGs, injections, wound care, and immunizations
  • Collect and process lab specimens including blood draws, throat swabs, and urinalysis
  • Administer medications, coordinate referrals and follow-ups, and document care in the EMR
  • Provide patient education, support infection control, and help with scheduling and front office tasks

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or relevant experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
2. Medical Assistant Certification or Medical Assistant Diploma.
3. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
4. Minimum one year work experience in public contact job.
5. Work experience in health care preferred.
