Job description

Position Overview1. United Health Services (UHS) is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to deliver compassionate care in diverse clinical environments.
2. The LPN will assist with patient assessments, administer medications, provide treatments, and support patient care under the guidance of a registered nurse or provider.
3. The ideal candidate should be a dedicated LPN who prioritizes teamwork, effective communication, and patient-centered care.

UHS Binghamton General Hospital, Binghamton, NY UHS Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY Wilson Place, UHS Wilson Medical Campus, Johnson City, NY

There is more than one location associated with this position. This is either because there are multiple openings at different sites, or the successful candidate will be required to float across multiple UHS facilities. Compensation Range:

$25.27 - $37.90 per hour, depending on experience

You will be eligible for benefits if you are hired into a regular position with at least 24 scheduled weekly hours.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Performs clinical assignments within scope of practice to maximize patient experience and ensure patient safety.
  • Promotes and facilitates the compliance and understanding of Joint Commission, NYS DOH, Infection Control and all regulatory standards.
  • Under the direction of a provider or RN, educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
  • Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to UHS Hospitals policy.
  • Maintains CLIA Waived Lab standards and performs CLIA Waived Lab testing and proficiency validations according to regulatory standards. Includes tri annual AAFP Lab Proficiency testing, lab quality controls and lab credentialing if required by department.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
  • Participates in Performance Improvement activities, reviews PI data and assists in the development of Performance Improvement plans.
  • Participates in educational opportunities
Position Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

  • Graduated an accredited school of Practical Nursing
  • Current New York State Practical Nurse License or Permit

Preferred:

  • Experience working in critical care or hospital environment

  • Basic Skills Certifications (CPR)
