Detailed Work Schedule - To be determined and built around class schedule. You need not be available for all dates or times. Looking for availability during the summer and/or Fall and Spring 2025-26.

Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary: - Peer Mentors (PMs) are assigned to work in the Simulation & LRC to provide support to students and the Simulation & LRC staff. Support is accomplished in a variety of ways:

  • Review of basic skills (practicing vital signs and health assessment)
  • Assist students with Deliberate Practice (DP) including tracking student visits
  • Help students with any skills needed (vital signs, BP, catheterization, injections, etc.)
  • Help with set up and break down of simulation events
  • Assist with keeping the Simulation & LRC maintained

Requirements: - Students in good academic standing; full-time enrolled College of Nursing student

Additional Information: - Lab Assistant/Peer Mentors must supply two references from clinical faculty. Please upload these to your application.

Physical Demands Summary: - Assist with lifting/moving full body sized mannequins in excess of 25 lbs, medical equipment, beds, tables, carts, audiovisual equipment. Requires manual dexterity to manipulate equipment and standing for periods of time.

Wage Rate: - $10.00 per hour
