Description
WinnMed is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our Laboratory Department. Lab Assistants are responsible for phlebotomy duties, collecting and handling laboratory specimens for outpatients and inpatients, and performing waived tests. Responsibilities also include performing Occupational Health lab testing and other clerical duties as assigned in the lab. 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week). On-the-job phlebotomy training is provided. Hours are day shift, Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm. Rotating shifts on nights and weekends are required based on departmental staffing.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Phlebotomy training preferred; on the job training possible
  • Previous phlebotomy experience preferred
  • American Hearth Association BLS
  • Lab Assistant Certification from approved laboratory certification agency is beneficial
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills required
