Job description

VCA California Veterinary Specialists is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician for our Emergency Department. We are the largest 24-hour Emergency and Specialty hospital in the Inland Empire. For the past decade, we have provided exceptional veterinary service and patient care. We take pride in what we do and are seeking a motivated individual willing to work with a strong team of individuals (including our VTS ECC) in a fast-paced environment. Our ERCC Department may be a great fit for these skills

  • Monitor and perform treatments for patients requiring intensive management, recognize significant changes in the patient’s condition, and notify the Doctor.

  • Experienced with venipuncture and IV catheter placement on critical patients

  • Anesthetic induction and monitoring of sensitive and critically ill patients

  • Experience with specialized equipment care and use, and a willingness to learn new skills.

  • Strong experience with the care of urinary catheters, central lines, and nasal gastric tubes

  • Solid mathematical skills and the ability to calculate CRI and medication dosages are a must

  • Ability to run in-house lab samples and handle submissions to outside laboratories as needed

  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to bring attention to discrepancies in patient care and treatments

  • Must be able to work productively with minimal supervision

  • Registered Veterinary Technician Certification or ability to be eligible within 6 months.

  • 1 year of emergency experience is essential for this role

  • 2 years of veterinary experience is necessary for this position

Location: 2409 S Vineyard Ave, Suite O, Ontario, CA 91761

Schedule: Swing/Overnight - End of the Week

Salary: $ 28 -$ 32 / hour

Compensation may be negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. Shift differential available on weekends and later hours
