Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate highly skilled Certified Veterinarian Technician and Veterinary Assistants to join the team at our successful clinic. Veterinary Technician responsibilities include assisting the Veterinarian with surgeries and procedures, coordinating animal care, and monitoring animal recovery. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other experienced professionals. You will work closely with the entire clinic staff to ensure the health and well-being of all of our pet patients. We are a bustling and dynamic privately owned hospital, offering a wide range of opportunities to enhance your expertise through cutting-edge techniques such as laser treatments, dentistry, ultrasound, and much more. If you are passionate about providing exceptional animal care, we’d like to meet you.

Responsibilities

Triage pets as they arrive at the clinic

Interview pet owners to obtain a patient history

Take vital signs and acquire blood samples

Managing surgical patients from check-in to check-out, including surgery monitoring and recovery

Administer medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clients

Keep accurate patient records

Running in-house IDEXX Lab Equipment

Proficient in Phlebotomy

Cephalic

Saphenous

Jugular

Placing IV Catheters

Following up with clients after visits or procedures by phone or text and relaying pertinent information to doctors

Daily chores

Cleaning

Maintaining all laboratory equipment

Assisting with hospitalized patients

Cleaning kennels

Cleaning floors

Restraint

Other hospital duties that may be involved (we do have a cleaning crew twice weekly)

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role, Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT - preferred by not required)

Knowledge of animal care and handling

Excellent communication skills

Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment

Patience and a love for animals

Schedule

10-hour shifts

Day shift

No nights

Overtime (occasionally)

Weekends as needed

Usually every other Saturday

Closed Sunday's
