Actively Screening for Lab Technician -Chemist to join international epoxy specialized client in Marietta, GA!

Description

Day to Day: Candidate will have daily lab tasks to complete. New formula of paint (prep panels, check dry time on panels, taking out panels that are drying and forming adhesion test, documenting test results on previous test, preparing panels to be transported, corrugating with lab facility on test results. 50% in lab, 30% documentation, 20% communication with outside lab and team

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Laboratory testing including viscosity, lap shear adhesion, tensile strength, etc.; along with corresponding analyses as directed. Specific emphasis on adhesives, sealants, and coatings in a number of potential chemistries including: epoxies, polyurethanes, acrylics, lacquers, and enamels.
  • Prepare, conduct, and report on product testing and development
  • Maintain detailed and organized documentation of work performed
  • Practice safe work habits and comply with all Environmental, Health, and Safety policies and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, etc.
  • 3 years of industry experience relating to epoxy, sealants, consumer coating or adhesive products.
  • Experience in a lab setting having independently executed test procedures
  • Preferred to have had experience within formulation or research and development
  • Ability to fluently read, write, and speak in English.
  • Eligible to work in the USA
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push weight up to 35 lb.
  • Basic computer skills including fluency with MS Office applications.

A successful candidate will also have:

  • Ability to work on both self-directed and team-oriented projects.
  • Excellent quantitative math skills and written / verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
