As part of the Commercial Governance team within Growth & Experience - Commercial Excellence, you will play a critical role in ensuring Baker Hughes maintains an effective, scalable, and business-aligned Know Your Customer (KYC) program. This role offers the opportunity to lead a global function, partner with senior stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement across governance, compliance, and commercial operations.

Partner with the best

The KYC Director will lead and oversee the global Know Your Customer function for Baker Hughes, ensuring robust due diligence practices, effective governance, and alignment with business objectives. The role combines strategic leadership with operational execution across policy development, process optimization, vendor management, stakeholder engagement, analytics, budgeting, and team performance.

You will serve as the primary point of accountability for the KYC operating model, supporting business growth while maintaining strong risk management standards. Leading a team of analysts and external partners, you will provide expert guidance to senior stakeholders and ensure the delivery of efficient, high-quality KYC processes across the organization.

As a KYC Director, you will be responsible for:

Strategic KYC Leadership

  • Lead the global KYC function, providing strategic direction, governance, and operational oversight.
  • Own and continuously enhance the KYC operating model, including workflows, controls, escalation paths, governance structures, and process documentation.
  • Maintain and update KYC policies and procedures to reflect evolving business requirements, regulatory expectations, and changes in the external risk environment.
  • Partner with business segments and integration teams to provide practical guidance and support risk-informed decision making.
  • Develop long-term plans to improve KYC effectiveness, scalability, and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Support Internal Audit reviews and ensure readiness for governance and compliance assessments.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee day-to-day KYC operations, ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, queue management, and SLA performance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the KYC Analyst team to drive capability building, performance excellence, and consistent decision making.
  • Establish performance metrics and quality controls to improve service delivery and operational effectiveness.
  • Manage complex KYC reviews, escalations, and exception cases, ensuring appropriate risk-based outcomes.
  • Work closely with Legal, Compliance, International Trade Compliance (ITC), Commercial Risk, and business stakeholders to resolve challenging due diligence matters.

Vendor Management

  • Own relationships with key KYC vendors, including Exiger, Dow Jones, Moody's/Orbis, and other third-party service providers.
  • Manage supplier performance, contract renewals, purchase orders, invoicing, and service delivery expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvements through effective vendor governance and performance management.
  • Ensure external partners support the organization's operational and compliance objectives.

Analytics and Reporting

  • Utilize dashboards, analytics, and performance metrics to identify trends, improve efficiency, and support decision making.
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to quality, processing time, queue health, and SLA adherence.
  • Prepare and present executive-level updates on operational performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide insights and recommendations that support business growth and continuous process improvement.

Governance and Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong partnerships with stakeholders across Commercial Governance, Legal, Compliance, ITC, Commercial Risk, Digital Technology, and business segments.
  • Provide clear, practical, and business-focused guidance on KYC requirements and risk management expectations.
  • Ensure governance standards are consistently applied across regions, business units, and operating environments.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and communication to strengthen confidence in KYC processes and outcomes.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Have relevant experience in KYC, compliance, governance, risk management, audit, or related disciplines.
  • Have experience leading a KYC function or similar due diligence program within a large multinational organization, preferably within the energy sector or a related industry.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of third-party due diligence, beneficial ownership reviews, sanctions screening, watchlist monitoring, risk-based assessments, and escalation protocols.
  • Have experience operating within complex, global matrix organizations and managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
  • Possess strong leadership skills with a proven ability to coach, develop, and manage high-performing teams.
  • Have experience designing and improving policies, procedures, controls, governance frameworks, and operational processes.
  • Demonstrate expertise in vendor management, contract oversight, budget management, and supplier performance governance.
  • Be highly analytical with the ability to leverage data and performance metrics to drive operational improvements and informed decision making.
  • Possess excellent communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and executive influencing skills.
  • Hold a relevant certification such as CAMS, ICA, CCEP, or equivalent, which is preferred.
  • Experience with Exiger Insight 3PM or similar third-party risk and due diligence platforms is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Dow Jones screening tools and compliance monitoring systems.
  • Familiarity with Moody's Orbis or similar corporate ownership and company intelligence databases.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI, and dashboard-based reporting tools.
  • Experience working with workflow management systems, analytics tools, and reporting platforms.

For Italy: The initial pay range for this position will be EUR 90,400 To 124,300.
