Job Summary:
Baidu USA is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to guide their product team in developing and deploying scalable, AI-enabled systems. The role involves taking end-to-end ownership of major backend and data initiatives while ensuring compliance with information security policies as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
Required:
• 6+ years of professional software development experience, with 2+ years in a lead or tech-lead role
• Strong backend expertise: Java, C++, Scala, Python—plus cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS) and data frameworks (e.g., Spark)
• Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, microservices, and distributed systems
• Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL databases
• Well-honed software engineering practices: version control, CI/CD, unit testing, code reviews
• Experience architecting and deploying production-grade systems and mentoring engineers
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Proactive leadership: self-directed, resourceful, and comfortable steering projects in ambiguity
