Polymer Concepts Technologies PBY, Inc. is looking to hire a 2nd shift and a 3rd shift Aerospace Quality Inspector to our Hanover, PA team doing business as Kaydon Ring and Seal ("KRS"). KRS is responsible for Aerospace and Industrial seal applications with a global responsibility for Sales, Manufacturing, Business development, Product and Process Development. KRS has a customer portfolio that includes all major players in the Aerospace industry. Our business is fully customer focused, with products specifically designed for a jet engine application, produced in small quantities and small lots on highly flexible equipment. Extreme product range fragmentation, complex product design, very high-quality standards and traceability requirements are the peculiarity of KRS.

Aerospace Quality Inspector (2nd and 3rd shift) will support operations by inspecting in process parts or conduct final inspections of aerospace seals.

Job Role and Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspection steps as outlined on inspection sequence and drawings on aerospace and industrial components.
  • Use prints, sketches, process sheets, etc. to ensure work is acceptable withing specification and within conformance.
  • Perform quality testing as required to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Visually inspect product.
  • Work from oral and written instructions, blueprints, sketches and process sheets. etc.
  • Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, etc.) to assure conformance to known standards.
  • Maintain records and paperwork.
  • Assure work areas are kept in a neat, safe, clean and orderly fashion.
  • Notify supervision of problems or difficulties.
  • Follow all plant safety rules and regulations along with company policies amp; procedures.
  • Use a variety of equipment to perform checks based on assignment
    • Seals department will use CNC Milling machines, lathes, drill press, segment machines, key slot, burnish machines, etc.
    • Rings department will use micrometers, air gages, indicators, crown gages, optic scope, grove gages, CMM machines, comparators, etc.
  • NOTE: Roles are safety sensitive positions.

Job Education, Experience and Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years applied training working within manufacturing quality role.
  • Minimum 1 year working with precise measuring equipment and devices with tight tolerances.
  • Ability to read and understand dimensional blueprints.
  • Refers to supervisor for clarification of priorities, objectives, or policies.
  • Ability to train on any shift.
  • Annual eye exam to ensure ability to meet requirements of quality department.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
  • 2nd shift hours, M-F, 3P to 11P
  • 3rd shift hours, M-F, 11P-7A (Sunday night start-up)
  • 4th shift hours, S-S 11P-11A (Friday night start up) M or F 11P-7A work 32 hours paid for 42 hours
  • 5th shift hours, S-S 11A-11P, M or F 11a-7P, work 32 hours paid for 42 hours
  • All hourly employees will be part of the United Steelworkers Union (USW)
