GHG Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Orthopedic Neurology for a travel nursing job in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

Opportunity:

RN - MedSurg Ortho/Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required - nights are Friday/Saturday/Sunday
• Rotating holidays required based on unit needs
• Open to 48-hour contract
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6 for both day and night shifts
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS; ACLS preferred
• Must have basic arrhythmia knowledge and ability to recognize fatal rhythms
• Telemetry monitored remotely - nurses do not read strips but must recognize fatal rhythms
• IV experience required - B-Braun system used; drips limited to Heparin and Protonix (no titrating or cardiac drips)
• Experience with Bipap, CPAP, and High Flow ventilation required
• Charting via EPIC EMR system
• Schedule requests entered via Kronos at least 2 weeks in advance for 4-week blocks; block scheduling available if in contract
• One orientation shift with a preceptor including Net Learning Modules and EPIC training
• Float to any MedSurg unit as needed (no floating to ED or Behavioral Health)
• Common diagnoses include total joint replacements, spinal cases, occasional burr holes, seizures, craniotomies, brain stimulation, traction for hips, Buck's traction, and MedSurg overflow
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs, navy or white jacket, white or navy undershirt, natural hair color only, excessive or distasteful tattoos must be covered
• 21-bed unit with a mix of private and semi-private rooms
• Charge nurse available 24/7, hospitalist in-house 24/7, RT in-house 24/7, and pharmacy in-house 24/7

This acute care facility operates a MedSurg Ortho/Neuro unit with 21 beds, offering a well-supported clinical environment with 24/7 charge nurse coverage, hospitalist support, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services on-site. The unit utilizes EPIC for charting and Omnicell for medication management, providing travelers with access to modern healthcare technology. The facility emphasizes attendance and professionalism while offering a structured and collaborative work environment.
