Description
Position Summary
Contributes to the mission of Goodwill by helping to lead a Goodwill retail location, donation site and in store production facility. In the absence of the store manager and assistant store manager directs the work tasks of associates assigned to the facility to meet store goals. Documents personnel issues for review with management. In appearance and manner, conducts self as a role model to others.
Essential Duties
(Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.)
1. Responsible for running the store operations in the absence of the store and assistant manager, this includes but is not limited to front end and production area activities.
2. Monitors progress of associates as it relates to individual goals, includes production and Round Up. Executes the MATRIX daily to reach goals.
3. Understands, based on the demands of the business, when required to participate in production to reach store goals.
4. Ensures the high standards of cleanliness and visual merchandise presentation are being followed by all store associates, at all times. Is the best example of customer service for associates to emulate.
5. Promotes and sets the example for Goodwill's standards of exceptional customer service, both internally and externally.
6. Assists the store management team with meaningful communication through onboarding, monthly meetings, check ins and appraisals.
7. Solicits customer and associate feedback. Acts on it.
8. Utilizes management information tools such as daily sales, production reports, sales by commodity, Round Up reports and monthly variance reports to determine and measure store activity and to identify trends.
9. In the absence of ROM and RAM, submits all closing reports, accident reports, risk training reports, Kronos documentation correctly and on time.
10. Communicates directly, consistently and in a timely manner with direct supervisor and other management team members relating to problems with store operations and personnel.
11. Takes the initiative to look for opportunities to improve the store; efficiencies, process, people development. Acts on it.
12. Fully participates in all meetings and learning opportunities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The associate in this position has supervisory responsibility for designated associates in their department.
Education/Experience/Certificates/Security Clearance
• High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will consider a combination of education and work experience.
• 1 Year experience in a leadership role preferred.
• No professional certifications are required for this position.
• The associate is not required to drive as part of their job duties.
• The associate in this position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Physical Demands/Work Environment/Work Conditions
• The associate is required to lift up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• The associate works in a moderate work environment with occasional exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).
• The associate must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate.
