Kratos jas an exciting opportunity in Colorado Springs, CO for a qualified and experienced RF Technician 3 to support Department of Defense customers. The RF Technician is a mid-level position who possesses a strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals with working knowledge of radio frequency (RF)-based electronic systems.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provides engineering analysis, integration and development support
  • Develop SATCOM signal environments with customers to meet event execution
  • Develop and analyze Satellite link budgets
  • Develop test plans; conduct testing; interpret, document, and present the results to engineering peers, leadership, and the government customer
  • Active participation in the full Software Development Life Cycle leveraging Agile methodologies
  • Reoccurring international travel to potentially austere environments for deployed system installations, upgrades and sustainment efforts
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Must have an Active TS/SCI clearance
  • BS or technical degree and relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of SATCOM equipment including, but not limited to, antennas, HPAs/SSPAs, up/down-converters, LNAs, and modems
  • Experience with RF test equipment, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, Power Meter, O-Scope
  • Experience with cable maintenance and fabrication, CAT-5/6, Coaxial RF, AC/DC power
  • Experience writing and delivering technical documents and briefings
  • Knowledge of SATCOM signals including modulation, error correction, and associated signal generation equipment
  • Experience with troubleshooting satellite communications systems
  • Ability to react quickly in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Willingness to travel
  • Ability to communicate technical approaches and details within small project teams, including team interaction and presentation

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with computer networks
  • Data analysis skills
  • Military experience or working in a military environment
  • DoD Test experience
  • Working knowledge of current DoD Space Control and counter space systems

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Competitive salary based on experience and education
Salary Range: $85,000-$110,000
