Position Overview

Greene Construction is seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of our fleet and heavy equipment. This role is critical to ensuring our trucks and machinery remain safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance across all job sites.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including inspections,          adjustments, and parts replacement
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Identify and repair electrical and wiring issues
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on air brake systems in compliance with safety standards
  • Repair and maintain trucks and equipment, including Mack, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Peterbilt, and Volvo
  • Safely perform heavy lifting and manual repair tasks while following all safety protocols
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Accurately input maintenance records, repairs, and issues into HCSS (Equipment360)
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in all work performed
  • Adapt to changing priorities and support ongoing projects and operational needs


Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or similar role
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, trucks, and heavy equipment
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues
  • Familiarity with air brake systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with brands such as Mack, CAT, Komatsu, Volvo, and Peterbilt
  • Experience with HCSS or similar maintenance tracking systems
  • CDL Class A or B (preferred but not required)
