Job description

Koenig Equipment is seeking a skilled Agricultural Equipment Pre-delivery/Set-up Technician base in Anna, OH to prepare agricultural machinery for customer delivery. You will assemble, inspect, configure, and test equipment — including tractors, combines, planters, sprayers, tillage tools, and precision ag systems — ensuring everything meets specified standards and is field-ready from day one. This hands-on role is key to providing the exceptional customer experience Koenig Equipment is known for.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complete assembly and set-up of new and used John Deere agricultural equipment per manufacturer specifications and dealership protocols
  • Conduct detailed pre-delivery inspections (PDI), identifying and resolving any issues before handover
  • Install, calibrate, and test precision agriculture technologies (e.g., John Deere AutoTrac, Section Control, variable rate applications, displays, guidance systems, telematics)
  • Verify operation of all systems: engine, hydraulics, transmission, PTO, electrical, lights, fluids, tires, and attachments
  • Remove shipping materials, detail/clean equipment to Koenig's high presentation standards, and prepare for delivery or demo
  • Complete required documentation, digital service records, and checklists
  • Collaborate with senior technicians on diagnostics, repairs, or reconditioning as needed
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment
  • Participate in ongoing John Deere training and stay current with evolving ag technology
Qualifications amp; Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; technical certificate in diesel/ag mechanics, heavy equipment, or related field preferred
  • 1–3+ years of mechanical experience (agricultural, heavy equipment, or diesel repair); John Deere experience is a major plus
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and precision ag systems
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and John Deere diagnostic resources
  • Valid driver's license (CDL preferred); clean driving record
  • Basic computer proficiency for John Deere software, service records, and precision setup tools
  • Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, work outdoors/in various conditions, and stand for long periods
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and a strong safety focus
  • Self-motivated team player with a customer-first attitude aligned with Koenig's core values
