Job description

Skilled trade. High demand. Real earning potential.

Quality Conveyor Solutions (QCS) is a leading provider of conveyor belt services, including vulcanized splicing, conveyor installation, and emergency field service. Weโ€™re looking for experienced Field Splice Technicians who take pride in their work and understand the importance of keeping operations running.

This is a travel-intensive role requiring at least 50% travel, including overnight stays and varying schedules based on customer and project needs.

This role is critical to our customersโ€”and to our reputation.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Perform vulcanized and mechanical conveyor belt splicing in field environments
  • Set up and operate vulcanizing presses, splicing tools, and conveyor maintenance equipment
  • Prepare belts using finger splicing, step splicing, and lap splicing techniques across a range of widths
  • Execute conveyor belt installation, repair, and preventative maintenance
  • Safely isolate and prepare conveyor systems for service
  • Complete job documentation (time sheets, service reports, expenses)
  • Provide on-site technical support and customer service
  • Interact professionally with customers on-site
  • Work independently or lead small crews when needed

What the Job Is Really Like

  • Work is performed in heavy industrial environments, which may include exposure to temperature extremes, humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, airborne particles, and fumes from adhesives, solvents, and paints
  • Youโ€™ll handle physically demanding tasks (lifting, climbing, working at heights). You may be asked to safely lift 75-100 pounds frequently, using proper lifting techniques.
  • Travel required 50%+, including overnight travel and multi-day jobs
  • Schedule includes on-call, overtime, weekends, and emergency breakdown response
  • Requires strong attention to safety compliance, precision, and quality workmanship
  • Safety is non-negotiableโ€”PPE and procedures are strictly followed, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, gloves, and other required protective equipment as required.

What Weโ€™re Looking For

  • 2โ€“3+ years of experience in conveyor belt splicing / vulcanizing
  • Strong working knowledge of conveyor systems, belt tracking, and material handling equipment
  • Experience with field service, maintenance, or industrial repair work
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently (50%+ required)
  • Experience driving trucks and trailers preferred
  • Welding, fabrication, or mechanical maintenance experience is a plus
  • Strong communication and professionalism with customers and team
  • Valid driverโ€™s license (required upon hire as a condition of continued employment)
  • Ability to pass background check and drug testing

Why Join QCS

  • Work with one of the largest conveyor service providers on the East Coast
  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience + overtime opportunities
  • Strong benefits package (BCBS medical, dental, vision, 401k with match, PTO, life insurance)
  • Be part of a high-performance team known for responsiveness and technical expertise
