JOB SUMMARY:

The Industrial Services Foreman is responsible for leading field crews performing process maintenance activities including, but not limited to, conveyor belt installation, vulcanized and mechanical belt splicing, rubber repair, and industrial maintenance support across mining, industrial, oil & gas, and construction environments. This role provides direct front-line leadership while remaining actively involved in field operations. The Foreman coordinates daily work activities, supports project execution, enforces safety and quality standards, mentors technicians, and serves as the primary field contact between crews, supervisors, and clients.

The Foreman serves as the first line of field leadership and works under the direction of the Industrial Services General Foreman, balancing technical expertise with crew leadership responsibilities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company and client expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Lead and coordinate field crews performing preventative maintenance tasks, conveyor belt installation, repair, vulcanized and mechanical splicing, pulley lagging and steel and rubber lining.
  • Execute and support advanced conveyor maintenance activities including belt tracking, tensioning, alignment corrections, splice fabrication, and component replacement.
  • Assign daily work tasks, monitor crew productivity, and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Work directly in the field with assigned crews, performing physical tasks and operating tools and equipment as required.
  • Supervise and lead maintenance mechanics, technicians, and field personnel during daily operations and maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment needs with supervision to support project schedules and production goals.
  • Troubleshoot conveyor system failures, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate emergency repairs, troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, and support timely resolution to minimize operational downtime.
  • Conduct inspections and identify issues related to belt damage, mistracking, splice condition, wear patterns, and mechanical failures.
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA/OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, company safety policies, and site-specific requirements.
  • Complete and maintain required documentation including JHAs, pre-task plans, splice reports, cure logs, QA/QC forms, measurement sheets, and daily field reports.
  • Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Train, mentor, and coach technicians and crew members on safe work practices, technical procedures, and quality standards.
  • Communicate project progress, workforce performance, safety concerns, and operational needs to the General Foreman or Superintendent.
  • Professionally represent the company with customers and clients while maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Promote teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and a positive safety culture on all job sites.
  • Seek and participate in training and development opportunities.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as directed.

SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS:

This position provides direct day-to-day supervision and leadership to assigned field crews, technicians, laborers, and other project personnel during industrial maintenance and field service activities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Strong knowledge of conveyor belt systems, vulcanized and mechanical splicing methods, rubber repair, pulley lagging, rubber lining, mills and liners, and related maintenance practices.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance systems and equipment including conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and related industrial components.
  • Understanding of conveyor system components including pulleys, idlers, scrapers, chutes, and related equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, belt specifications, splice procedures, and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of MSHA/OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, PPE requirements, and industrial safety standards.
  • Familiarity with mining, industrial, oil & gas, and construction work environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills related to conveyor failures, belt mistracking, wear patterns, and system performance.
  • Proficient use of hand tools, power tools, vulcanizing equipment, and measuring devices.
  • Ability to lead crews, coordinate field activities, and maintain productivity in demanding work environments.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with crews, supervisors, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to train and mentor technicians while reinforcing company procedures and safety expectations.
  • Ability to complete field documentation accurately and communicate job progress effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision in remote or site-based environments.
  • Ability to solve problems under pressure and make sound field decisions.

  • Ability to work flexible schedules including long shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and travel as required.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a Native Corporation multi-business environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in conveyor belting, process maintenance, mechanical maintenance, rubber repair, or heavy industrial maintenance required.
  • Experience performing vulcanized and mechanical belt splicing required.
  • Ability to meet requirements for industrial and mining work sites required.
  • Two (2) years of lead hand, crew leadership, or supervisory experience in industrial, mining, or heavy construction environments preferred.
  • MSHA Part 46/48, OSHA 10/30, fall protection, and lockout/tagout training preferred.
  • Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Forklift, telehandler, or manlift certifications preferred.
  • Experience with underground, surface mine, or heavy industrial applications preferred.
  • Valid state driver's license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Company's Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass drug, driving, and background screening.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Brice Equipment has a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment requiring efficient and effective performance. This is a site-based role requiring regular presence at client facilities in mining, oil & gas, industrial, and construction settings both indoors and outdoors.

The position may require extended shifts, rotational schedules, weekend work, overtime, and travel depending on project location and operational demands. Employees in this position will be exposed to physically demanding industrial environments and are expected to maintain strict adherence to safety standards and company policies.
