Operations Manager - Food Distribution

On-Site | Full-Time | Leadership Role | Philadelphia, PA 19137

Lead the Operation. Develop the Team. Drive Results.

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead daily warehouse operations within a fast-paced food distribution and cold chain environment.

This role oversees frozen, refrigerated, and dry warehouse operations, with responsibility for warehouse productivity, shipping and receiving, team leadership, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operations leader who knows how to develop people, improve processes, and keep a high-volume distribution operation running safely and efficiently.

What You'll Own
  • Lead daily warehouse operations across frozen, refrigerated, and dry storage areas
  • Manage and develop Warehouse and Receiving Supervisors and their teams
  • Oversee inbound and outbound shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment
  • Monitor warehouse KPIs including productivity, order accuracy, fulfillment speed, waste, and cost
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, FDA, USDA, OSHA, food safety, and temperature-control requirements
  • Improve warehouse processes, layout, workflow, labor utilization, and operational efficiency
  • Lead initiatives, audits, training, and corrective actions
  • Partner with Sales, Procurement, Logistics, and senior leadership to support business needs
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of warehouse operations or operations management experience
  • Experience in food distribution, cold storage, cold chain logistics, grocery, wholesale distribution, or a similar high-volume environment strongly preferred
  • Proven experience leading warehouse supervisors and frontline teams
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, shipping and receiving, order fulfillment, and warehouse KPIs
  • Experience with WMS and ERP systems
  • Knowledge of HACCP, FDA, USDA, OSHA, and food safety requirements
  • Experience with refrigerated, frozen, or temperature-controlled products preferred
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and process-improvement skills
