Job description

Ecowaste Solutions is one of the fastest-growing companies in the waste management industry, delivering essential services that keep communities and businesses running. We take pride in the hands-on work our team does every day, and we're looking for people who share that same drive and commitment to excellence.

We're standing up a brand-new site to support a newly awarded county contract, and we're looking for an Operations Supervisor to help build it from the ground up. This role will oversee day-to-day collection operations, lead a growing team of drivers and support staff, and make sure the site delivers on the terms of our municipal contract from day one. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience running truck and trailer fleets, has worked with municipal or servicing contracts, and is energized by the challenge of launching and shaping a new operation rather than stepping into an established one.

Responsibilities

● Oversees daily residential, commercial, and industrial waste collection operations at a newly launched county contract site.

● Supervises drivers, dispatchers, and other operational staff, including hiring and onboarding as the site's team is built out.

● Ensures service delivery meets the terms and performance standards of the county and other municipal or servicing contracts.

● Develops and optimizes collection routes to improve efficiency, meet contract obligations, and reduce operating costs.

● Oversees dispatching of drivers and equipment to ensure routes and service commitments are completed on schedule.

● Monitors fleet utilization, maintenance schedules, and equipment performance for the site's truck and trailer fleet.

● Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal environmental and transportation regulations.

● Enforces company safety policies and conducts regular safety training for site personnel.

● Investigates accidents, incidents, and customer complaints and implements corrective actions.

● Manages site-level operational budgets, labor costs, fuel usage, and disposal expenses.

● Coordinates with landfill, transfer station, and recycling facility personnel to support daily operations.

● Tracks and reports operational KPIs, including route completion rates, productivity, and customer service metrics.

● Trains and evaluates operational employees as the site grows.

● Collaborates with sales and customer service teams to support a successful contract launch and ongoing service quality.

● Serves as the primary point of contact for county and municipal stakeholders on day-to-day service matters.

● Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

● 3-5 years of operations supervisory experience, preferably in waste management, transportation, or fleet operations.

● Experience working with municipal or servicing contracts preferred.

● Experience managing commercial fleets required; truck and trailer fleet experience (not automobile fleet) strongly preferred.

● Working knowledge of DOT regulations, OSHA requirements, and environmental compliance standards.

● Experience with route optimization, dispatching, and fleet maintenance coordination.

● Proficiency with routing, dispatch, and fleet management software preferred.

● Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

● Combination of office and field work, including regular presence at the site during its initial launch.

● Regular visits to collection routes, transfer stations, recycling facilities, and landfills.

● Extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking, along with occasional driving between site locations.

● Frequent use of a computer, phone, and dispatch or routing software.

● Occasionally lifts and carries materials or equipment up to 25 pounds.

● Ability to respond to operational emergencies outside normal business hours when needed, particularly during the site's startup phase.

● May be exposed to varying weather conditions and outdoor collection environments.

Pay and Benefits

● Weekly pay.

● Multiple health plans available, including a tax-advantaged HSA option.

● Dental and vision coverage.

● Company-paid basic life insurance.

● Retirement plan with a company match up to 5%.

● Paid time off.

● Access to employee discounts through LifeMart.

Ecowaste Solutions and subsidiaries offer a competitive base salary, the opportunity to earn incentive pay, and a comprehensive employee benefits package. Please submit your resume and salary history for consideration. Only applicants who meet minimum qualifications will be considered, and only individuals selected for an interview will be contacted.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
