Job description

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations functions of the facility to make sure all departments are organized, efficient, and effective in their daily tasks and responsibilities are achieved. Ensure that all jobs are covered, issues are handled properly, and decisions made to increase the profitability and revenue of the company.

Essential Functions:

  • Accept and register new shipments as necessary
  • Dispatch crews for each job for each day and ensure workload is at its maximum
  • Driver assignments as well as working with corporate to make sure all shipments are assigned and picked up
  • Input weekly payroll into company system and process paperwork for new hires
  • Assist in recruiting OTR drivers
  • Audit fuel logs on a weekly basis
  • Oversee warehouse operations and ensure warehouse and surrounding lot is clean, orderly, and able to pass fire and RSMO inspections
  • Maintain logs for local equipment and trucks

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of company systems
  • Ability to articulate clearly
  • Able to problems solve quickly and effectively
  • Knowledge of logistics and transportation industry
  • Knowledge of residential, commercial, and military move process

Required Education and Experience:

  • Required: High School diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Previous logistics and transportation experience
  • Required: Previous managerial experience

Working Conditions:

  • Mainly indoors, working outdoors is sometimes required
  • Sitting down for long periods at a time while indoors
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs is sometimes required
