Ascendum Machinery, a leading Volvo Construction Equipment dealer, is offering an excellent opportunity for an Operations Manager in our Concord, North Carolina branch. This position is ideal for someone who has heavy equipment experience in service and parts and who is ready to grow their professional career with a leading company in the heavy equipment industry.
FLSA STATUS: The U.S. Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires employers to classify their employees as being either exempt or non-exempt for the purpose of being paid overtime wages. The essential duties of this job are such that the employee is classified according to the FLSA as a Non-Exempt employee.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead all field and shop technicians to meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Ensure all service technicians are provided the necessary tools.
  • Ensure all work orders are opened, closed and billed in a timely manner.
  • Stay up to date on all safety training, product offerings, and department goals.
  • Ensure all company safety requirements are adhered to by parts and service personnel.
  • Complete assigned work, productivity goals and financial responsibility for branch.
  • Lead technicians to complete all training as required.
  • Ensure all administrative functions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain supervisory oversight of the facilities and yard.
  • Assist in other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements
EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES/PROFICIENCIES
  • Experience and/or Education: High School diploma and/or trade school completion in appropriate field.
  • Computer Skills: The employee can use the equipment and software required to accomplish the responsibilities of this position. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Prior supervisory experience over a technical or parts staff in heavy equipment.
  • Possesses good interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of safe job practices & regulations related to OSHA, MSHA, and Ascendum Machinery requirements.
  • Aptitude for repairing, troubleshooting, and servicing equipment in a shop environment.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge of tools and mechanical work for repairing equipment.
  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possesses and maintains an approachable and friendly demeanor.
  • Works independently with minimal direction and oversight.
  • Proven ability to complete work with energy and enthusiasm.
  • Customer orientation toward service and building relationships.
  • Compatible to working branch hours and extended days as needed.
  • The position requires the ability to sit, stand and walk for long periods.
  • The position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to safely operate and drive a vehicle to meetings and events.
