JOB DESCRIPTION


TITLE: Operations Manager WWTP (Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants)

LOCATION: Auburn Hills, Michigan 48326

OBJECTIVE

CCC is seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Manager with a strong background in municipal water and wastewater treatment plant construction. CCC is a self-performing prime contractor serving municipalities across Michigan on projects ranging from $500,000 to over $200 million under all delivery methods.

This role provides leadership, oversight, and mentorship to project teams throughout the project lifecycle, guiding the successful execution of complex treatment plant construction. The Operations Manager ensures projects meet contractual requirements, client objectives, budget, schedule, safety, and quality standards while effectively coordinating multidisciplinary internal teams.

OPERATIONS MANAGER - WWTP KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead and oversee project and program execution to ensure compliance with scope, budget, schedule, and contract requirements.
  • Guide project teams through all phases of water and wastewater treatment plant construction.
  • Manage project development, contract execution, financial performance, and close-out activities.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including CCC self-perform groups and subconsultants, to meet project objectives.
  • Mentor and develop project staff to support professional growth and succession planning.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and quality project delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for additional scopes, innovative solutions, and follow-on work with existing and new clients.
  • Support business development efforts, including strategy development, proposal preparation, and contract negotiations.
  • Oversee project financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, invoicing, and subconsultant management.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and client health, safety, environmental, quality, and financial policies.


OPERATIONS MANAGER - WWTP CORE COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 15+ years of experience in municipal water and wastewater treatment plant construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, estimating, cost control, equipment, and engineering principles.
  • Experience with delivery methods including self-perform general contractor, design-build, construction management, and traditional GC.
  • Working knowledge of Sage 300, Procore, Prolog, and/or Contract Manager preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and supervisory skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role includes both office work & regular visits to active industrial job sites. Flexibility & occasional travel are required.
