Job description

Job Title: Staff Accountant 

Location: Huntingdon, PA 

Schedule: Monday-Friday 


Job Description 

D.C. Goodman is in search of a Staff Accountant to handle day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, assisting with payroll, and supporting month-end/year-end closing. This role plays a key part in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization by managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, and preparing reports that inform business decisions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with multiple accounting and payroll systems, and able to work independently while collaborating with management on budgeting and audit needs. Experience in construction, MEP, or AE industry accounting is a strong plus given the nature of DC Goodman's business. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts 
  • Process accounts payable/receivable, including invoicing and payments 
  • Process payroll, including verifying hours, deductions, and tax withholdings 
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes 
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for management 
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies 
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation 
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls 
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation entries 


Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field 
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience (Mid-level) 
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Knowify, Bamboo HR and or payroll software) 
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills 
  • MEP, AE, or Construction accounting experience preferred 
  • Onsite position
